I totally forgot that we have the option of "No time limit" fights. Meaning no rounds, so fighters fight until someone wins. No rests, nothing. Just fight.
We can use this for special challenges obviously, but what do people think about making the SuperFight contested under these no time limit rules from now on? I think that would add a wonderful new spice to the belt, and also keep it a bit separate from the actual weight class the main title is in too, since the structure is different.

Had I seen this, I would've said no, but it sounds to me like I'm in the minority on this.
For me, I personally prefer having the round breaks with unlimited rounds. This is MMA, not pro wrestling.

I assume this doesn't help, but this unlimited time limit thing will NEVER happen in our actual title fights or anything. Just superfights, to give that separate title challenge a different vibe. I agree with you, our real MMA needs rounds and our fighters are so much better when they have the break. I think my brain kinda thinks of SuperFight like the UFC's BMF title - it's cool, its its own thing, separate from our real belts, not quite as prestigious, but more of a gimmick and a different kind of test. |

You're right, it doesn't help. lol I also, honestly, think JMac would've beat Gracie had there been round breaks. For some reason, that's where MacDonald tends to gain his ground in fights, in recovery. Again, not a fan, but it's done, so whatever. 🤷 |
