So we're making captain selection a popularity contest? 1) I think GAP has won more "Just Cuz" awards than anyone on the site. Underdogs and Quads are popular. 2) As I said in the write-up, people cannot be Squad Captains more than once. So all "popularity" would do is ensure people are captains sooner. After 7 seasons, everyone will have been a captain. |

Option 5 for tie-breaker. Team not selected gets to challenge with his fighter against any non-champion fighter of any other team as the tie-breaker fight. The team he selects to fight with his fighter is the tie-breaking option for that squad. The non-selected team therefore defaults to the opposite team, effectively giving the non-selected team participation rights to choose what side he/she wants to be on. Another thought: The team NOT selected automatically becomes a captain the following season, with everyone voting for the 2nd captain. So you go from "not picked" to mother fucking "top dawg" and you serve as a tie-breaker, joining the festivites. I might not be understanding the first part, but it sounds kinda messy and losing the SS because a team you did not pick lost a fight when they are representing you against your will is kinda bleh. I like part 2, and we should definitely do that. |

Current draft of proposal with all updates and full clarifications:
Core idea Sketch
(this might sound messy, but once it's happening, its really not)
- We start with a poll, and the 2 teams with the most votes become this seasons Squad Captains.
- Squad Captains will be responsible for drafting their squads (they are drafting members, not fighters).
- The Squad Captain with the most votes drafts first.
- The Squad Captains draft their teams (selecting members, NOT fighters)
- Once both Squads have 6 members, the Squads are done.
- The poor fucker not picked gets a point and does not participate this season. They are, however, automatically a Squad Captain next season.
- Each MEMBER selected chooses a fighter from their team to participate in the Survivor Series. This will be done in a thread, with teams selecting
- Max. one fighter per weightclass, and members pick their fighter in order they were drafted, with Captains selecting first.
- Members can choose anyone on their team as long as no one from their team has already chosen a fighter from that weightclass.
- ANY champion can compete, but their belt WILL be on the line.1
- The Superfight title will be fought under SuperFight title rules.1
- There will be 6 fights, the squad with the most wins wins ManMMA's Survivor Series.
- Each team on the winning squad gets 2 points per each.
- Next season, the current season's Squad Captains will be ineligible to be Squad Captains again, and the team that sat out will be one of the 2 captains. The second captain will be polled again from the remaining pool of eligible members. This will continue until everyone has sat out, and everyone has been a Squad Captain.
1 The only exception here is if the SuperFight champ ends up matched up with the actual division champion. If the SuperFight Champion ends up fighting the division champion (Currently Machida vs. Walker), the SuperFight title will become immediately vacated, and the next 2 SuperFight challengers will be fighting for a vacant SuperFight belt at the next ManMMA event.
2 In the event of a tie, the Squad with the most finishes is declared the winner. If we are still tied, the squad with the earliest finish is declared the winner. If both squads are inexplicably tied with the fastest finish, we go to the next fastest, etc. If all fights go to decision, we go by the winner of the Squad Captains fight. If we are still tied, whatever team Austin is on is declared the loser. If for some reason we are STILL tied, fuck the whole thing, we are never doing a Survivor Series ever again!
I think this is pretty well fleshed out now and is a soft final draft of what we're going with. Is there anything that needs clarification, or anything that is particularly hated?
