Contributer is more about what members do for the site - like posting articles, posting questions, participating, etc. There was a time in early sim days when people had "Shows" and stuff like that. They were articles, but people called them shows. They were fun. I digress though. Just stuff like that. Social participation.

Most Dedicated, however, is more about you and your team. So upgrading, trades, fine-tuning, predicting, etc. Maybe even trash talking? Stuff like that.
