I don't know if anyone else has been following the news story about the Canadian teen who was kidnapped and then chained and sexually assaulted for 2 weeks (allegedly). There has been a man hunt for the 2 men believed responsible. One was caught and now the other was found dead. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/story/2012/10/04/ns-cunningham-chained-teen.htmlI am always fascinated in how reading/hearing about this kind of news story effects me. I'm a big proponent of social justice. I believe that people can be rehabilitated or even better we can avoid most criminal and dangerously non compliant behavior through simple social equalities- but I'm glad this man is dead. He didn't get a trail, I can't prove (although I do believe the police can) that he did these heinous things to another younger person, but I read this and was like 'good- at least he won't be out in six months looking for another kid to molest". Now, in fairness to me- one of these men was actually out on parole when he allegedly kidnapped this kid.... so I don't have a lot of reason to trust the system- but that still doesn't make my feelings of gladness over a dead man right. Do other people feel the same? Or are you way better than me at believing justice will be done? if so, explain why or how, because I know it's not right to want an unconvicted man dead, but I'm happy with the outcome.

I believe in an eye for an eye. Rehabilitation is bull shit. Atleast for the pedos and murderers. How many of these guys reoffend? How many crimes would not take place if these people were never given a second chance. I don't mean put them in prison for life either because the amount of money it costs tax payers to keep these guys alive is ridiculous. I'm sure a lot of criminals would think twice before committing "said crime" if they new there were real consiquences.

I believe that once a person commits a crime, that person deserves to be punished. If that person served out a prison sentence, then the punishment has been served, regardless of what it was. If that person returns to the streets and does another act of arm against someone and then dies, I don't feel bad for the person, I don't feel good about them being dead either, but I do believe it is sort of like karma and that is the Universe's way of handing out a punishment.
