Surprise Fighter of the Year
Select One
Rampage Jackson (16-13) - went 0-6 this year after being a perpetual #1 HW contender.
Gabriel Gonzaga (3-5) - after a strong 3-0 start last season, and being a nominee for Rookie of the year last year, Gonzaga hasn't won a fight since.
Dan Hardy (5-2) - despite being a rookie, Hardy walked into the division 5-0, and earned a title shot.
Mirko Cro Cop (13-11) - back at champion form, going 4-0 this season and winning a #1 contender bout
Gray Maynard (12-10) - walked into the season with a losing record, went 4-0 this year, capping it off with a #1 contender bout win.

Maynard did so WITHOUT upgrades which I think is important to note and also wtf did happen to Rampage?

Everyone else started improving HW fighters and that's the result.

I'm honestly surprised that Brock didn't make this list either. :-/ He's 0-6 just like Rampage atm...

Not on the season. Brock is on a 6 fight losing streak, but is only 0-4 on the season. He was on the short list too, but didn;t make the final cut. I wanted some GOOD surprises to be on the list, not all just under-performers.

lol I'm sorry but this is hilarious to me. Even when Kruze doesn't get what he wants in a LOSING fashion he needs to make it know. THAT is fucking HILARIOUS.
