i donno if these need to be poll questions or not but i asked if you liked my suggestion in the poll question.
my suggestion is that we might be able to buy new fighters with points. so maybe like 2 points and you can buy a fighter to add to your team without having to swap???

Maybe, but not for that few of points. If that's the case, should you be allowed to sell a fighter, sending him to free agency for a return of upgrade points?

I agree with Hammerfists. If we can buy then we'd need to be able to sell too.

I'll have to review the point economy here and see if either of these are viable options. I have been considering letting people ditch a fighter at any time in exchange for 1 point.
If we bring both of these in, I could see:
- 2 points for a new fighter FROM THE SWAP LIST, - 2 points AT DRAFT for a brand new fighter from the DRAFT LIST (instead of losing a fighter) - 1 point sell-back for any fighters you want to drop immediately.
Still up for some discussion. Thoughts? To maintain the point economy I would always want sell-back price to be less than the buying price - creates more accountability.

I would almost suggest a commission rate, similar to RFA payments in the NHL. Base it off a win % or something, combined with like total fights to provide a value that a fighter can be worth. But if a fighter is over a specific win% they are dropped to the To Draft pile, thus making it more difficult for said fighter to be obtained and also promote better quality fighters for the worst fight teams. So a good team could build someone and drop some hefty fighters to do so, but the worst team benefits by gaining the option of selecting that fighter in the draft.

please let's not make things unnecessarily complicated. Does anyone really want more players and not have them?

no, it probably means you have to make more people care. Or re-cast the vote with the specifics Sandman outlined ect.
I don't have a problem with this,it's just not something I will probably be doing.

I'm not gonna vote, as I just joined like yesterday haha. Provide your input anyways. You are still a member of the community here, and at the awesome-active rate you are going, you will have lots of points. Would you have interest in buying fighters with 2 of those points? Or do you think this would ruin the universe as we know it?

A few more posts Underdog and you get another upgrade point to use on a fighter. Every 50 gets you one. Great to see you contributing.

thats cool and all but can i use my points to buy a fighter??? The upgrade points are for UPGRADING your current fighters, Byron and you have fighters that do need upgrading; ie. Kheyfets, Miletich, Sylvia, Belfort... Hell, nearly all your fighters could use an upgrade or a tweak. You've got enough neglected fighters. But if you wanna get rid of your points that badly, I'm sure there are a few of us that would be happy to take them off your hands for a fighter through trade. I mean, don't get me wrong, there's 2-3 fighters that I would love to just simply add to my roster right now and not have to swap what I've got out to do it, granted their on the "draft" list, not the "Swap" list, but I've also got one for the largest rosters in ManMMA. The difference between you and I is that I use most of my points on my fighters and I'm generating points by posting lots and through the predictor sometimes, but those points, more often than not go to my fighters. It was only last season when I had the opportunity to expand my roster that I traded points to acquire a few more fighters to round it out, more or less the way I wanted it. That being said, I do agree with Sandman's break down, but (IMO) if we're paying the 2 points anyways, we should be able to select from either list, not just the "Swap" list. I realize it's a pain in the ass for you to make new fighters, Sandman, but making one is a whole lot different than making 12 or so, when we get a new team. I don't have a problem with it either way, other than that I'd rather be able to pick any fighter I wanted for my 2 points as oppose to just selecting from, effectively, the scrap heap.

This is just my opinion, it may not be the best because I'm the resident n00b here.
If we were to implement points for buying fighters, that would mean we would probably have a different way to get "player bucks" and upgrade points, and reduce the amount of fighters significantly. I'm having trouble trying to get all my fighters a good amount of upgrade points already, so I'd prefer if we reduce the amount right now. And, yes, I know, that would mean less matches. But, we could always have fighters fight players who are not signed so we can fill the card.
There's my two cents. Again, i'm not voting on this because I'm indifferent with both options.
