I dunno... I'm really not digging these ref stoppages at all. Herman had just given his back, yes, but that was to protect from the elbows. Kinda disappointing :-/ looked like it was going to be a better fight than it already was.

When you give your back, you are turtling. That's fair game for a ref to stop the fight.

Not necessarily, I've seen fight where guy's give their back and slip out the back. It's not ALWAYS turtling.

It typically is, though. You usually have about 1-2 seconds of turtling to do something. After that, you settle into defence-only.

I've actually seen a number fights where the guy that gave up his back, was protecting himself well enough and got out of it; even to the point of coming back and winning the fight. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this point... I just think this one was a little to quick to judge.
