So I just tested the simulator, and I have a very odd suggestion. Please read it all and understand it before yelling one way or another.
Prologue: Joachim Hansen was a beast. I upgraded his punches. He didn't do a single thing after. There have been other fighters who have sucked after upgrades too (Gonzaga is a big one).
So to test a theory, I simmed a couple test fights with my tool fighters, and I can now say almost for a fact that you CAN upgrade someone wrong, making them worse.
Suggestion Because of the above, I am suggesting we allow people to SPEND a point to REMOVE their last upgrade on a fighter. So in my case, I would need to earn another point, then I could use that point to UNDO the last Hansen upgrade I made.
How it would work You could ONLY use this to undo the LAST upgrade you made on that fighter. If you upgraded another fighter inbetween, that's fine, it would be undoing your last upgrade on that SPECIFIC FIGHTER. NOT your last upgrade period. So if I upgrade Carano, and then we decide we like this wacky suggestion, I can undo Hansen's PUNCHES upgrade (the last one I did) but I cannot undo his aggression upgrades (i made those before his punching upgrade).
Questions, comments, concerns?
(Also, for the record, as with most ManMMA stuff, I don't really care one way or another, just didn't realize you could completely ruin a fighter with one upgrade before now, hahaha.

what if you put more than one point into more than one thing? For example what if I post:
+2 to Kaufman's strength +1 to Kaufman's clinch striking
Can I only remove the clinch striking point because I listed it last? I think this is important to detail, so that: #1 People will list with this in mind and/or list each item as a separate post #2 We don't have a site wide fight when it happens.

Well for me, as of right now... My only fighter that I have major concerns with, as it pertains to THAT issue, is Kedzie. And to be honest... that's a LONG list of upgrades that may or may not have been wrong according to her build. If anyone is worth their salt in this league, they'd know that Kedzie should NOT be as bad as she has been; especially after the upgrades I have put into her.
Personally, and because I have newer fighters to the sport on my roster, I upgrade my fighters based on what I've seen from them IRL and want them to be like they are IRL and the best of themselves based on that model because we're in a league that touts "The Best Of The Best". And, as we've seen already, I have different ideas about different fighters than Sandman does when it comes to skill sets; as I'm sure many of you do. So, in that vein, his initial builds on these fighters might not be what WE see as these fighters skill sets, which can cause a problem too.
Now, no matter what you think of any of my fighters, fact is that if any one of us has unwittingly "ruined" a fighter, this particular suggestion does nothing to rectify that other than paying a point to rectify a small part of the mistake if we've done more than 1 upgrade in the wrong direction and also could take a season (or more) to even realize the mistake.
I like the idea in principle, but, for me, 1 upgrade fix will likely not fix Kedzie, nor anyone else's fighters, to where she should be if they've put multiple upgrades in already.
My only solution to this, and I know Sandman doesn't want this, but FULL disclosure on our fighters attributes. I know we all like the mystery of building our fighters, but if we're upgrading them wrong, I think we all need to know that. Just saying.
And sorry for the "essay", but this needed to be explained.

My only solution to this, and I know Sandman doesn't want this, but FULL disclosure on our fighters attributes. For the record, not happening. Not now, not ever. It's that simple. I am not spending 4 weeks of my life inputting the 20 overall stats for 234 fighters on ManMMA (and any fighters drafted at later dates).

I mean fighters ON teams, not ALL fighters in the league. Meaning, if we ask for a specific fighters' stats on our team, cuz we're planning on upgrading them and wanna make sure we're doing right by the build of the fighter, then they're given without question. It'd be up to each individual GM to keep track themselves, if they want to. But in light of this new discovery you've made about upgrades, I can't see that this should be a problem nor should there be much resistance from you. If this is the truth with the upgrades then, as GMs, we actually should know we're building our fighters properly.
