This one is what Phoenix would call a "bullshit wolf-toss" for Fisher. Maybe we should ahve Cruz fight someone real before his title shot. Benson Henderson maybe?

That said, with a bit of toughness (you need that to stand and trade as a boxer) and an offensive upgrade or two, Fisher could be a legit contender.

Just be a little more active and reply on all the fight threads. It's what I do, and maybe a little more, BUT to post on each fight takes virtually 10 mins... most of us spend that much time on the site anyways. It's not hard.


As for the fight, I agree that this might have been kind of a wolf toss... it's due to the way the tourneys are structured though, more than anything. I wouldn't give up on Fisher that easily Storm... he's a pretty significant fighter in this league otherwise; I wouldn't have upgraded Cruz for this fight if I didn't sweat him at all.

I will never have enough upgrades to be able to focus on more than one fighter. I already have a ton of upgrades on Huerta. Too late to change now. Apparenty KNockout Defense does not help Huerta though

Everyone loses some. Use that to look at their weaknesses, and just tweak those. Over a little bit of time (not a year), they will round out and move up.

There are 2 ways to upgrade:
Power-upgrading - you throw a SHIT load of points into a bunch of someones stats until they start winning most of their fights
Smart-Upgrading - you throw the RIGHT upgrades into someone based on their style, strengths, and weaknesses, until they can win most of their fights

I have done both, and both work. I am power upgrading Carano, and I am smart-upgrading Joachim Hansen (i started to power upgrade him then i fucked him up bad)

5-2 doesn't matter though. I still only have so many posts. One upgrade every couple months isn't going to get my fighters any better. If I change now and start upgrading Fisher and he gets his ass kicked 2 in row. Then what?? Switch to somebody else? Only so many upgrades. I can only pick one category at a time.

you've got like, 13 posts in the last 6 minutes. You only need 50 for a point, plus you get 2 points with your draft picks each season (if you choose a point rather than a fighter).

You are doing fine, and your fighters will reflect that over time. You are still new. Just remember, though, just becuase YOU are new, doesn't mean your fighters are rookies (per say). You have a lot of good fighters to build off of. You are not in the same position as someone who walks in and chooses a team of Paul Sass, Erik Koch, and Lavar Johnsons.

Phoenix is the main post-whore. the other two (Mike and I) only get 1 point every 100 posts, so we are not in competition, and everyone else is pretty much as active as you are. maybe a little bit more, but not much. No, before recently I got an upgrade every 200 posts. so closer to 32ish upgrades from posts. And some of those have been traded, spent to buy fighters, spent on fighters i upgraded then traded or removed from my team, etc.

Can you not just trust me when I say you have a good team and your team is competitive? I mean, shit, even against a league of "upgraded" guys, Fisher went 5-2. Huerta went 3-0. You had the absolute best rookie season any first-season team/GM has EVER had on this site.

Your team is legit. the fine-tuning you need to do is no where near what people like me have to do (I am developing shit fighters like Ben Askren too).

Even though dumbass is continuing to label me with the "post-whore" thing for doing exactly what he told me I should do when I joined and came to him with the same sort of problem as you're having now Cooker... he's actually right. You can still get the points you deserve by even just commenting on your own fights, like you have here... the points will come.

You'd think by my team initially that I didn't know anything about UFC or MMA really just because I picked fairly new guys/gals to the sport or guys no one ever heard of... lol My main knowledge is in women's MMA, which is odd, but it's true... and I'm still kicking myself a little for not taking Honchak btw lol But being I like up and comers a little more than the "Legends" I was actually a little surpised at who was available too; was kinda like fish in a barrel minus the Tito's, Liddell's, Machida's, St. Pierre's, etc. of course.

I may be bitching about my team more than usual cuz we've been losing this season like the Leafs have been for the last 46 years but I still like all my fighters; good, bad or almost there... and thankfully, most of them are almost there. I've had to make moves that I didn't like either, but even though this season is shot for my team now, I still have some individual fighter goals I want to accomplish to... so I can try and focus on that rather than the fact that we've got GP hangover and we only made it to the 2nd round. lol

Anyone can be upgraded and turned into something, you just need to find the right attributes for the fighter. Sanchez and Alves are prime examples. Sanchez started off brutal and I turned him into a champ. I remember when I traded for Bones too. I turned him into a champ after some upgrades. Just be active, comment on each fight and hopefully get lucky a few times with the predictor
