Team GrappleMuch has resigned from ManMMA. As such, his team is being dispersed via an auction. This auction has 2 "game-changers" in it, so there is a small modification to it. Details below.
The Following fighters are now being released via auction.
Georges St-Pierre (34-11-1) MW
Benson Henderson (30-8) LW
Matt Hughes (23-13) MW
Rampage Jackson (22-17) HW - Injured
Rashad Evans (15-20) HW
Chad Mendes (5-5) LW
Jake Shields (11-14) MW
Ryan Bader (6-11) HW
Frank Mir (7-15) HW - Injured
Reminder on how this will work. If you are interested in someone, post a proposed one-for-one trade offering the best fighter you are willing to trade for that GrappleMuch fighter. The team that offers the best one-for-one offer will be able to complete the trade and get the fighter. You may bid several times (like an auction) for the same fighter if you are outbid. Please make a new post though; do not edit your first post.
Traded (thus released) fighters will be available as regular released fighters after the auction period has concluded (and Sandmen has posted the official claims). A team that releases a player to claim one of GrappleMuch's players may not claim that fighter back again for 1 full season (20 ManMMA events).
Nutshell Reminder (of regular auction rules)
- Quality of bid is usually pretty obvious, but if a determining factor needs to be taken into consideration, win percentage is the main one. If fighters have less than like, 8 fights more factors will be considered, but these have never been complex in the past.
- you may only offer male for male fighters in this auction.
- You CAN successfully claim more than 1 fighter if no one else puts a claim in on your secondary claim. I.E. If Hammerfists wins Jackson, and no one puts another bid in on either Mendes or Shields but he does, he can take them as well. If other bids are in (even if his secondary bid is better), the other team gets them. If 2 teams have secondary claims on the same fighter, it goes to best bid, and so on, and so on.
- After close, all fighters will be assigned to teams and released fighters will be released. Regular first-come, first-served claim/release procedures then follow.
The "Game-Changers"
- If Benson Henderson and/or Georges St.-Pierre have multiple teams bidding, at close those teams with competing bids will be put into a randomized lottery draw to determine who gets the winning bid.
- Lottery modifiers such as team record will add to lottery odds, so that terrible teams have a slightly better chance of winning the auction - much like the NHL Lottery each year.
- Quality of your bid is also a factor, so don't stop bidding on game changers if there are multiple teams bidding. If you bid a 20-5, and they bid a 7-17, you will have better chances of winning the lottery.
- Regardless of the draw, 1 team will not get BOTH Benson and GSP, so if you want to bid on both, please make it clear which one of the two you would prefer should a draw come about so you don't get your second choice over your first.
- Wins/bids on anyone other than GSP/Benson will NOT be taken into account when determining the game-changer wins if it comes to a lottery draw. Meaning if you win Ryan Bader auction, that will not be used against you if a Game-Changer Lottery is needed.
I hope that isn't too confusing. The first half is the same as we have been doing since ManMMA launched, and we have had no issues, but yeah. Any questions, ask below.
You may now begin. Auction closes at 5PM EST Wednesday, May 29. That makes this a 72 hour auction.
