ManMMA.com recently caught up with a very confident HW No. 1 contender, Tim Sylvia, as he trains for his upcoming championship fight at ManMMA 149 vs. the Champion, Team Ramrod's Jon 'Bones' Jones.
ManMMA.com: Thank you for taking the time out of your training schedule to meet with us.
Tim Sylvia: My pleasure. A fight of this magnitude deserves the proper exposure.
ManMMA.com: Now, you say 'of this magnitude', is there something personal between you and Jon Jones?
Tim Sylvia: I wouldn't say personal between the two of us, as individuals, but there's something personal with the team he represents for sure.
ManMMA.com: I'm assuming you're meaning Team Ramrod's release of your services a few seasons ago.
Tim Sylvia: Absolutely. Team Ramrod gave up on a winner. They gave up on a champion, and I intend to prove that at ManMMA 149. Jones is a great fighter, and a good champion... but I'm better.
ManMMA.com: Jones has been ManMMA Champion twice now and has defended that title numerous times, what makes you a cut above other contenders in ManMMA?
Tim Sylvia: I'm bigger and I'm stronger. I'm the biggest Heavyweight in ManMMA. Jones is gonna have his hands full dealing with 'The Maine-iac'; guaranteed. Now, granted, I have more to prove in this fight than Jon does, but make no mistake... 'Bones' Is Going Down At ManMMA 149 or he's gonna have a helluva time putting me down. I'm motivated. I'm ready. And I intend to knock him the **** out. But again, it's not personal to him... when I knock him the **** out, I'm knocking Team Ramrod out for giving up on me. You've got a war on your hands. Get ready.
