Some Random Predictions, based on the crazy off-season we had. Sandman predicts the following, based on trends, etc:
1) Sarah D'Alelio will be a nominee for "surprise fighter of the year", and will finish the season about 6-2.
2) Holly Holm will win "rookie of the year" and have a crazy 4-0 record to open her career (depending on who she draws in the women's tournament.
3) Rousey will not defend her belt long. Cyborg will take it.
4) Pending big upgrades, Paige VanZant, Gunnar Nelson, Michael Chiesa, and Joanne Calderwood will perform below expectations. I predict good fights, but poor records.
5) Anderson will lose the belt to someone stupid in an upset
6) Condit will lose his first defence
7) Hansen will hold onto LW for half of the season or more.
8) Sandman will make a shocking blockbuster HW trade (keep an eye on your inboxes).
9) Cannon will neglect all of his women, making a great women's draft generally pointless, inflating the league's "plug-factor" when it comes to women fighters.

4) Pending big upgrades, Paige VanZant, Gunnar Nelson, Michael Chiesa, and Joanne Calderwood will perform below expectations. I predict good fights, but poor records. Then create the fighters better.. lol My predictions: 1)Cannon and Phx will bitch at each other all season long. 2)GAP will spend all season trying to build his fighters better only to find out at the end of the season that the fighter suck. 3)Underdogs will win GP and then say "Dang!" 4)GAP and Hammerfist will argue all season long about the ML league. 5)Ferocity will stay quiet but will do very well in the season.

Then create the fighters better.. lol That part is your job. I make them with a realistic build (so I create them within the paradigm of the best fighters in MMA history), then you guys take them from there. Also, the rest of your predictions were boring. Make more interesting predictions.

i predict sandmen will fall off a cliff and in mid-fall will become a pelican.. and fly off to a deserted island where a hunter will capture him with a net gun and then take sandmen back to the mad scientist lab where he will be experimented on and be made more interesting..then sandmen will revert back to his natural state and be boring as hell again.

Over Holm anyways. 3) Depends on who gets to Rousey first. It might be Carano too, or if Sarah D goes on the run you claim, it might be her aswell. Should be interesting. 4) Agreed, for the most part, but I think Calderwood's going to be (or should be) better than you're giving her credit for. Out of the women created this season, despite having less fights IRL than Smith, Hyatt & Gadelha, her resume of wins is more impressive than Gadelha's and comparable to Smith's, really. I hope her build does reflect that a little, but we'll see. 5) Dude, nearly anyone that beats Anderson you'll think is stupid. lol Not a hard prediction there. 6) That'd be awesome, but I think he'll defend it atleast once, unfortunately. 7) Perhaps, but Hansen's still relatively untested against the better LWs in the league, meaning he hasn't been around long enough to fight them more than once or twice. It'll be interesting to see once the Benson's, the Sanchez's and the Cruz's, etc. step up to the plate again to test keep testing him. I think he'll be alright, but all it takes is one good shot for anyone to be done in any fight. So we'll see. 8) Only blockbuster HW trade would be involving ANderson, and I don't see that happening anytime soon. 9) Agreed.

This is twice now people have refered to someone's build, intentionally or unintentionally tossing the blame at me for under-performing fighters. The process for fighter creation has been the same since ManMMA started, and is done in the most unbiased way imaginable - the fighters strengths are developed until their overall puts them in line with their real life rankings, and in relation to the people on ManMMA they have beaten, etc. If any of the people created go 0-6, it is not the sole fault of the build. It could be a number of different things, from a lack of being tested against real opponents within the ManMMA paradigm (Nelson, Chiesa, vanZant, Holm), or random shit luck (Mir, Barnett, Gracie). Plus, if there was a direct relationship between a build, overall, and ManMMA fighter performances, our championship banner would look A LOT different, and champions would probably never change. Ever.
I get frustrated by this continued "blame the build (and by extension, the builder)" stuff because no one blames EA Sports if Sidney Crosby is under performing in a simmed season of NHL 13. So I would really appreciate if people laid off this "create them better" and "hope her build does reflect that" crap. No one (including myself) has any clue what a build reflects. So again, to summarize, for about the 104th time, you can not tell a single thing about a persons build by their ManMMA performance. So let's all stop talking like we can. Sound fair? Yes? Good. Done.

Done. I gave an opinion here dude... I didn't blame you for anything. What I was saying was based of what I've seen previously and what you've told me about the building process. There is margin for error, especially on my part because of the random shit. My contention is still that Gadelha might not be as good as her 11-0 record shows IRL because of 2 factors you mentioned there: 1) the "relation to the people on ManMMA they have beaten"; I believe that number is 0, I could be wrong.... And 2) "lack of being tested against real opponents within the ManMMA paradigm." Then again it could be the random shit you speak of too. But I look at who Gadelha's fought IRL and I look at other fighters with worse records, and the one's with worse records have fought against and in some cases beaten better opponents than Gadelha's ever had. We'll see what happens with her, but again, to clarify, I wasn't blaming you for anything.

I hope rousey loses belt to cyborg to stop phx from upgrading manwich d'alelio What the hell does Cyborg have to do with anything? lol You always seem to think Cyborg's the one that's needs to me champ in order for everyone to be able to upgrade or prevent. I doubt Sarah's close to Cyborg yet anyways, but she might be now. But if you remember back, Rousey had the highest overall of all the gals, so while she's champion, anyone can upgrade up 5% higher than her, including Kaufman & Cyborg. lol

It's marginally possible she could've moved ahead of Davis, but I doubt it moved her ahead of Fujii or Cyborg or anyone higher than that. I could be wrong cuz Justin's the only one with that information, but he is predicting Sarah to be a surprise fighter this year, which is odd, so maybe it did put her up there... we'll have to see what happens in her next few fights to be sure. I know personally, there are about 3-4 different attributes that I want to put up a bit before she gets capped, so hopefully I can do that, but if it doesn't happen, that's just the way it goes.
