My own theory is that I may have spread the upgrades out a little too much, but you'd think that some defensive type upgrades would only help though. It's weird.

I've simmed about 180 events and still have no idea how the hell half of this thing works. Probably better, cause when I do, 90% of the excitement will be gone.

I think everyone has done their own things to upgrade their fighters, but it's not hard to dig into the site and research how others have build their fighters. It's a process, really, and defense I would think absolutely helps, but it's less noticeable than offensive for obvious reasons.
