Alright, so it's not exactly as it used to be but here's the idea.
Every season each team gets 1 Vs. card. If we have 10 members, there'd be 5 cards in the season that feature a VS. card.
It's not a full card though. It will be 5 fights and can include a catchweight fight as long as both teams agree to the match. The regular card with tournaments and whatnot would continue as a normal card would, but the preliminaries would featured this VS. card for a few of the card's fights.
This would still follow all rules regarding fighters distances between fights, so if your fighter just fought a card or two ago, he likely would not be available for this fight.
Perhaps Sandman can give the list of fighters available prior to the card announcement?
Anyways, just an idea to bring back the competitive spirit as well as make the Grand Prix more meaningful to feature rematches and knowing how you did against a given opponent earlier in the season.
Thoughts?

If I'm being honest with you, lover, I hate a plethora of things about this suggestion. Here's the blunt run down:
1) First and foremost, why is it in the Championship Corner?
2) vs. never left. People can challenge for them and do them any time. I sim them as ManMMA Special Events, and are simmed during a slot in simming when I have time to do so.
3) Getting the distance between fights sorted out would be a nightmare. Right now, since they are special events, they can happen any time. There is a slight risk of injury or whatever with back to back fights, but it's slight and the teams know that going in.
4) Sandman doing "lists of available fighters" is time consuming, and does not sound like something Sandman wants to be doing, when the current way allows people to set it up entirely on their own.
5) The prelims currently feature what work out to be "qualifier" fights, or rank-related fights. They might be prelims, but they matter as much as the tournament fights, as they set up the next tournament. Replacing them with Versus fights isn't really an option. This would be a "SPecial Card" route, not a "they happen on regular cards" route.
6) I think 5 extra cards in a season is too much, but not necessarily because of the simming. Lots of members have shown little or no interest in a Versus event, so making them do it would kinda suck. Also, it usually takes me 4-7 days to get GP lists from some teams. Getting VS lists for a bonus event they are not actually interested in would not be fun.

Liz Carmouche (4-12) vs. Fallon Fox (3-6) II Uriah Hall (3-5) vs. Ben Askren (4-14) Michael Chiesa (1-3) vs. Conor McGregor (5-7) Anderson wanted a non-title rematch with Rashad, since he is still bitter about that crappy loss to him, but we figured that would be frowned upon by the powers that be.

They're your fighters, your champions and your vs. fight. Puts an added element of intrigue if one of them gets injured and how we'd handle interim championships, etc.
