Nevermind, this was a thread where I was referring to GAP, I get confused because there's 3 people running around with strange conversations and it's hard to keep track of it all.

Regardless, yes they have. This year they did pre-season action with different face-off rules, then abolished it after October was completed.

They also tried hybrid icing this year, and it was allowed to continue until the end of October before making a decision. At the end of October, they kept it.

So yes, this has happened.
