Hi.
Whatever we released prior RE: PPV numbers for this event was wrong. We had a glitch-out on PPV buy rates, so this goes down as another "inconclusive" one on that front. We've tried firing people, but it just doesn't seem like anyone can do the damned job of adding buys properly. Perhaps the cable provider is screwing us - we're not sure.
And before we dive into the nitty gritty of everything, I have to toss this out there - How pumped is everyone for Penn vs. (the winner of Chandler vs. Hansen)? I predict Penn vs. Hansen, but Chandler is a monster now, so you never know. Either way, I'm excited for it.
Anyways, decent night of fights. Lots of good close fights. A couple shockingly poor performances. With that, let's discuss some fighters.
Naho Sugiyama (8-15) - This fight makes her 8-16, and solidifies a 4 fight losing streak. After what is probably the worst performance we have seen from her, we are left with no choice but to add Naho to the FiD list. Hopefully she'll get her game together in some of her upcoming fights.
Jennifer Howe (2-3) - With her 4th straight loss, Jennifer needs to get her act together and fast. She had a stellar 2-0 start to begin her career here, but has done nothing but slip and slide. Given the calibre of opponents she has beaten vs. those she has been defeated by, we're forced at this time to add her name to the list as well, though we have confidence she will fight her way back off it relatively soon.
Anthony Pettis (20-27) - with his 28th loss, Pettis is also at 5 consecutive losses. Though we're not declaring him in danger yet, he will receive a downgrade in the calibre of opponent for his next fight. Should he lose that fight, we might have some pretty serious problems.
Shahbulat Shamhalaev (0-2) - He's now sitting at 0-3. This guy needs a win, plain and simple. Since he's a rookie, we'll give him one more chance to show us he belongs here, otherwise he'll be on the list for sure.
With that, let's open the floor. Questions, comments, concerns?
