I believe that once you move Velasquez, he immediately comes back to my possession? Otherwise, I'm quite annoyed that I may lose an auction on a fighter due to technically my own fighter...

he was gifted. the gifted fighter goes absent from a team, there was no trade. because there wasn't a transaction it's like providing a loaner to a team on the belief he will keep the fighter. i would even argue that because of the fact no transaction happened, velasquez should not be useable in this auction.

That's unfortunately the risk you've been taking when you give someone your fighters bro. They become theirs to do with as they please. I mean, I see what you're saying, and it sux... but you chose to give away your fighters, no one put a gun to your head and made you do it.

Related but unrelated, the absolute last thing I want to start happening here is have people reluctant to gifting or charity trades. We just abolished expansion drafts because of charity, and now if we are disgruntling our biggest charity-donor, we might have a pretty big problem as a league.

To a point, I agree with you... but at the same time, these fighters belong to another team now. If Dozers wasn't having the success he has been having lately, I highly doubt that this would even be any sort of an issue. Just being honest.

Yes, success is a huge factor. The point of charity is to help new teams not be awful. But when that new team is the best in the league WITHOUT the charity, there are 10 other teams that could use that charity. Not to mention, if Bulldozers left right now, Cain would be returned to Rocketmen, just as he was when Team 3lite left. So that kind of adds some weight to the "loan" thing Rocketmen was talking about.

So, we'll see what happens and if Dozers follows up on his word too.

but bulldozers is not under any contracts or obligations to do anything... it's just a nice thing to do when you see lower teams who can't compete and you are on top of the league.

I honestly think it's become a bigger issue than it really needs to be... Just for the simple reason that, if it were me in Rocketman's position right now, most folks would be "too bad, so sad" you gave away your fighter and that's that. And if I were making the same complaints as Rocketmen is, it'd be chalked up as me throwing a "hissy fit" over it and nothing would be done about it.
Not meant to start anything, just some food for thought.
As for the abolition of the expansion draft, and your concern about relying on charity, is unfounded. Because, whereas there's no obligation to the team that did the gifting, the obligation then falls to the giftee is to pay it forward to someone else.. but they have no obligation to send back the fighter to the team they received it from. IMO If it's a gift, then it's a gift. Period.
