i think my lovebird is glad cats don't have thumbs- I mean I asked him, but I don't speak lovebird, so I'm not really sure what his reply was, but logicing it out, my bird currently maintains its dominance over my cat by dive bombing the cat and ripping out some fur whenever the cat does any hunting behaviors around the bird. while cats having thumbs would not give my cat any obvious advantage over the bird that he does not currently possess, I feel that the bird is already right on the knife's edge of maintaining his life as is and any advantage to the cat would upset the balance and result in the bird being killed and his head eaten. Counter arguments?

cat thumbs would definately upset the balance.. because cats could do calculus and thus create bird catching devices that would help cats to rule the world
