I think I noticed it when you changed it, but had no occasion to quote the guy until now.

I think I noticed it when you changed it, but had no occasion to quote the guy until now. lol Well, I don't think Drebin ever said "FiD is Jesus." though. In any event, I have no problem with FiD protection, I think that maybe 2 per weight class is a bit much, maybe 2-4 or 4-6 total from any weight class would be sufficient. I mean, I realize the idea behind FiD is to weed out the crap, even though we haven't really seen too many fighters be released from FiD ever either. I do like the idea of it from the standpoint of protecting a good fighter that's just having or just came off having a crappy season. For example, if we made it so that you can only protect X number of fighters that only had like 1 or less wins the previous season, that would make sense to me. And for teams like mine that had a large number of 1-2 and 1-3 fighters as well as a couple of 0-4 fighters, so I'd have to pick and choose carefully who I'd make exempt with a limited number of exemption spots. Plus, it'd only be for one season, not forever, obviously, and if we made it so that a fighter couldn't be exempt for two seasons in a row, that would make it more fair as well.

I think fid protection is dumb... Simply because everyone should be working on your team so your fighters don't suck enough to get on fid and certainly not enough to get removed from your team.

What xx - Team GAP said but also we discussed this before - no "X number of fighters" is fair across the board. We go with 5, that's 71% of Knockouts entire team. While being about 24% of Pheonix's team. But most importantly when a suggestion comes about we have to establish - what is the problem that is trying to be corrected?

The problem it's "correcting" is so Cannon can keep dicking around with his women and not have to worry about FiD with his men. lol I like the idea more at like 2 fighters, just in case you did have a fighter that's usually good but just had a shitter season... anything more than that and you'll get abuse of the luxury.

The problem it's "correcting" is so Cannon can keep dicking around with his women and not have to worry about FiD with his men. : Exactly. But in terms of the "2 or so safe guys" we talked about having that in the form of "team captains" a few seasons back. It didn't fly then either. And again, we're left with something that would create more work for me (not much, but still yet another thing I have to do each off-season), and it's not fixing or solving anything. It's just...there.

Rookies I don't have to keep track of anything different. If their record matches their season, I don't update their FiD column. I would need to create more columns to keep track of 2 exempt fighters per team. Since there is no problem this suggestion is solving, that is extra work I have absolutely no interest in doing.

If you're talking about your excel spreadshett, you wouldn't have to create new columns if you just color coded it and designate a color to exempt fighters, but really... it makes no difference to me one way or the other... My big thing with it is that is was essentially your own suggestion and now you're basically backing out on it, that's all.

It is colour coded already.
The suggestion about everyone having 2 fighters exempt from FiD was Cannon's and I have never been on board with it. It's stupid. MY suggestion, in the OTHER THREAD re: a completely different suggestion (1st overall pick) was to have the last place team be exempt from FiD for the following season. Again, no additional work on my part, since the teams are already in the document. And even that, it's something I feel unnecessary, but was something I pitched as a suggestion since neither your suggestion nor GAP's suggestion seemed to have any traction.
If no one likes that suggestion either, back to the drawing board in that thread.

If no one likes that suggestion either, back to the drawing board in that thread. Whoa, whoa.... hold up there bub... Just because YOU don't like a suggestion doesn't mean it has no traction. The reason for it not getting much response, as of yet, is because of you continually trying deflect and steer the conversation in a different direction, even though you claim you "don't give a shit". No one can offer any suggestion around here with you shitting all over it because you didn't think of it... and in your mind, if you don't think of it, then it's just a bad idea by default, regardless of whether it's actually a good idea or not. So what you should really be telling everyone on the site is not that you don't give a shit about one issue or another, but that you just simply don't give a shit what they think, unless they agree with you. You want a problem to fix.... there's a big one for you.
