How This Works

Here's how this league works (for now).

1. To start everything off, we have a fighter draft. You select your team, and your team will compete with others in ManMMA for the open-weight ManMMA Championship.

2. At ManMMA 1: Dawn of Man, a tournament will be held, and the winner will be crowned our inaugural champion.

3. At subsequent events, he will try to defend his belt against contenders.

4. Similarly, everyone else will be fighting to move up the ranks and become the number 1 contender and get a shot at that championship belt.

5. There is no guarantee that your fighters will not have to fight one another, but it will be avoided where ever possible.


From this core, there are A LOT of different directions we can take this, and I'm going to leave that up to you, in an official discussion thread. It's all about how much "managing" you want to do in this league.

So for now, let's get this bad boy started.

Also of note: You CAN trade your picks or fighters, so keep that in mind. You don't HAVE to have 5 fighters at all times.

Update:

I think it would be more exciting if we broke down the tournament, rather than doing it all in one night, as was originally planned. Though I always wanted to have a 1-night tournament, I think having a gap between tournament rounds allows for more build-up and trash talk and what have you.

This also means that the fighters that have sat out of the tournament won't be down several fights on the ones that made it deep in the tournament (i.e. the two tourney finalists would have 5 fights in one night compared to the sit-outs, who would have none.)

So here's how it works for now, generally speaking.
- Tournament round 1 takes place at ManMMA 1,
- Sat fighters fight at ManMMA 2,
- Winners of round 1 fight at ManMMA 3 as well as some of the left overs,
- winners of round 2 fight at ManMMA 4, as well as CONTENDERS established from previous ManMMAs
- Tournament continues, contenders continue, grudges continue, etc
- and so on.
