I've personally never been a big proponent of Christianity as a whole, but I figure to each their own. Faith is a very personal thing and not something I think you can just "come along with"; to me, you either believe or you don't.
That's not to say I'm not spiritual or that I don't believe there's a God or anything... I just don't believe that Jesus was the son of God or any of that stuff. If that's where you can find your inner piece, then have at'er, but I wouldn't go along with it just because your buddy's doing it. I'd go because you want to check it out yourself and see if it's right for you.

It's a good thing if you'd like to be an asshole to everyone who isn't a Christian. If you like being an asshole, or people call you an asshole frequently, the chances are you are already a Christian.

I agree almost 100% with Phoenix. But you can also go, check out the thing, see if it works for you and then decide for yourself. You don;t have to feel you need to adopt the label of "being a Christian" just to go once or twice or whatever with a friend. It's like a quest to find what you need in life. Treat it as such and I would not label it until you find a label you, yourself, are completely happy and comfortable with.

I've been both Christian and not, and I can say that organized religion can give you feelings of certainty, peace, and community involvement and commitment. It can be a great way to meet people who share similar values and are strengthened as a group by that sharing. I've never found anywhere that I could belong because I have a few basic beliefs that don't go well with Christianity or most other organized religion, but I do miss the connections to others.

I don't think this poll was a very straightforward question... No easy answer... But do what you feel is right for you
