My first objection to this trade was unprofessional, so I'm going to try this again.
As the lone "trade mod" here, it's my job to look at each trade objectively and provide my feedback. In doing so, my concern with this trade is still the value.
- Tito Ortiz (A-ranked fighter) was traded for less then this.
- Royce Gracie (A-ranked fighter) with 7+ upgrades went for 5 points.
Tito was was YOUR decision to deal, and what you've always been calling a "charity deal". Now suddenly it isn't cuz it helps in attempting to make a fictitious point for you?
Royce... well, all the Gracies in the program are underachievers compared to their real life counterparts. By what you're claiming here, Royce was also a vast over payment given that he hadn't won ant titles, and hadn't been up graded a lot either.
So really, neither one of your examples is of any relevance to this particular deal, given those facts above and the fact that they are A-ranked fighters and not B-ranked fighters.
In fact, just skimming through our 10 biggest blockbusters, in terms of value, this is probably one of the more expensive trades, even compared to those. Capped fighters and reigning champions have gone for anywhere between 7-12 points. Paying 42-71% that price for a fighter who could very well have been on FiD is undoubtedly steep.
Translating it to a hockey site, it would be like 2 first OVERALL picks and a 2nd rounder for...whatever DJ is. A 3rd liner?
You have to be looking at comparable trade, not the "our 10 biggest blockbusters" because this is not a blockbuster deal.
Take the whole movement of Josh Barnett this last time. Barnett also would have been considered a 3rd liner at the time. He's never won a title, and he's been on FiD a number of times. But you like him, so you paid another B-Ranked fighter (Mir) along with Bec Rawlings after I had traded Barnett, plus 2 points, for a C-ranked fighter. Granted, that was a friendly wager, however, at the same time, as a transaction, that's a B-ranked fighter + 2 points for a C-ranked fighter.
It's also no secret on this site that you don't like DJ at all. Your personal opinion or feelings about a fighter should have absolutely zero affect on determining value since your new system does that for you.
Given precedent, it's a steep, steep price. But as I said in my other write-up, if it makes xx - The Broad Street Bullies happier, the cat's been around long enough to know what he's doing, so I won't reject it.
But I did want to give a more fleshed out reason for my reservations about this trade.
What precedent? You've never followed any precedent presented to you ever before and now suddenly there's a precedent? lol There is no precedent here other than you backhandedly trying to either a) sabotage this deal or b) another troll attempt on your part because you're pissed off at me for something else. I mean, heaven forbid that Kruze makes a fair and honest deal where he's not getting ripped off, and neither is the person he's trading with.
I honestly don't give a crap about what your personal opinion of DJ is, Bullies likes him; end of story. So your analysis was really not warranted or needed since you had already claimed to have "processed" this deal, then backtracked for personal reasons.
You created this ranking system yourself Justin, but now that folks are starting to get proper value for their fighters, you suddenly have a problem or "reservations" with it, for whatever reason that pops into your brain at any given second. Any way you slice it, this entire analysis was unprofessional because it stemmed from some sort of personal issue you have with me and nothing to do with the deal at all. That's pretty sad dude.
