New Awards

[The Sandmen]

Since we have a set point pay structure now, and I promised opportunities for additional points, this season we'll be having a few extra awards catagories, focussing on members. We'll do the typical poll stuff to determine winners, etc. but the winners of these Member-Based awards will get a point for a win.

I am open to categories if people have any ideas. I'm thinking of stuff like:

- Best Thread - awarded to the member who started the best or most interesting thread of the season.

- Best Contributions - awarded to the member who, whether active or not, provided contributions to the site (jobs, posts, conversation, etc) that you deem most valuable.

- The "Just Cuz" Award - Everyone would be listed, and the person with the most votes in this catagory would get an extra point for no real reason other then..."just cuz".



Other ideas might be special contribution awards (like if someone suggested something that dramatically improved the site or something). I can see this being a special award only handed out like, once every few seasons or something, with "No winner" being an option, type thing.


Anyone have any other ideas for member-based awards that reward member's contributions or work or ideas or activity rather then just sticking with fighter awards?

I guess if people choose to vote based on popularity and not merit, that's their decision to make. Just like our regular awards.

If we did that I would still probably want to vote it or something, so people didn't try to just tank. I can totally see Cannon trying to tank for 1 extra point to get this award.

Im not going to tank on purpose but hopefully i did better this season than last, i did put like 10 points into ruas and randleman
