From their headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Phoenix FC President Matt Kruze announced today that current ManMMA bantamweight contender & Club Captain Sarah 'The Monster' D'Alelio (24-27) will be moving down to ManMMA's Flyweight Division. In his statement today, Kruze said "Sarah came to me with this. She said, to me before this fight with Kaufman, "If I don't win the belt at 315, I'm going after Jedrzejczyk." and I said fine... Sarah's a flag bearer for Phoenix FC. She wants to drop to Flyweight, and she can make weight... You got it." When ManMMA caught up to D'Alelio for comment in California, she had this to say: "Anyone from Paige to Megumi will do for now... I'm ranked 6th in Bantamweight, and I just had a title fight... Johanna better be prepared... cuz the Monster is coming... and I'm taking MY belt!"
Strong words from the Monster as she moves down to flyweight, but who's to deny her? She's been a perennial contender in ManMMA for many seasons now... This could very well be the Year of the Monster in the ManMMA... we'll just have to wait and see... but I'll be watching...
