An announcement covering some bases.
First, the small stuff:
1) If you were tagged in this thread, please select your new fighters soon. Or like...now. Deadline to select a new fighter will be Sunday (Sept. 4th) at noon. From now on please use the regular Release/Claim thread for that. It can be found here. If you do not wish to draft a new fighter, please let me know here, in this thread. Thank you.
2) Please review Official Rosters and make sure your team looks the way you want it to, and has the type of balance you want it to have.
3) If you want to do some swapping or weight-class moves, feel free to do so. Use the same-ol' Fighter Release/Claim board for swaps. I have created a new board in the Fighter Movement section called Weight Class Moves. Please use that to announce/request any weight class changes you wish to make (both for this, and in the future moving forward). And please remember to tag me (@ admin) for processing.
4) ManNXT - Yes, we are still doing that, and no, I have not forgotten to sim it. As I said repeatedly, this summer has been much crazier then I expected (summer kids programs, dealing with township considering closing the local library, spending extra time at the playground with daughter and her local friends since she won't see them probably at all this school-year, all that.) ManNXT will be simmed soon, and I hope and plan to get back to simming ManMMA twice a week, probably starting mid-September.
Now, onto the bigger announcements.
Despite what some (okay, one guy) may think, the previous booking and FiD system was mathematically perfect. But they were built around the mathematically-balanced numbers we had (3 fights per team times 12 teams = 36 fights per card, divided by 2 = 18 fights per card and 60 fights per season. Thus Fights per season divided by number of fighters on your team = FiD number. Beautiful. Clean. Simple. Perfect.) Now, however, those numbers are no longer balanced, so I'm making the following changes.
1) I'm no longer doing exactly 3 fights per team per card anymore. That worked out well, and we were on pace for a dead-even season, but now I'm going back to using my judgement, and trying my best to balance teams based primarily on who is most overdue for a fight. I am still keeping track of fights per team per season, and will be doing everything I can to balance that number in the grand scheme. I can just no longer guarantee 3 fights per team per card. It will probably be 3 fights for nine teams, and 2 for four teams each card. As I said, over a full season, I will try to balance that out.
2) Without clean numbers, creating a FID clear formula like we had before is no longer simple. As such, I'm abolishing FiD entirely. FOR NOW. If it becomes obvious that we need it (like if someone (CANNON!) has a guy on a 12 fight losing streak without a single thought, care, or point), I'll bring it back and probably set everyone to 3 or something like that. We'll cross that bridge if we come to it.
Well folks, I think that's it for now. Thank you again for your help and support in setting up a new member, thank you again to The Texas Rattlesnakes for joining up, and thank you for your patience during this process, and through my slowness this entire summer.
As always, questions, comments, concerns? Post below.
