I think if DJ and Cruz were the same size, DJ would take the decision. I think in real life though, DJ is a little too small, and since Cruz would have the reach advantage, he would be able to get shots in at DJ when DJ could not reach him, this giving him a decision. DJ is a different fighter than when they fought before and there is a reason he is sitting atop a lot of Pound for Pound lists right now. I'm not disputing that DJ's a good fighter, I like him too... I just don't think anyone in the division can match up to Cruz in the mental part of the game. He thinks fighting in a different way than most folks and, as a results, it gives him a high cage intelligence. He's one of, if not, THE smartest fight I've personally seen myself. Wouldn't matter about the reach advantage or not, Dom would still win cuz DJ still wouldn't be able to hit him a lot. lol

It really comes down to whether or not with the reach advantage he can get inside the pocket. Cruz does this weird almost like Yeti walk throughout his fights, and he leans SO far in and then leans back and he's now his entire torso's length away from you. If someone can close that gap, then we get to see what kind of clutch game Dominick has, but until that happens, I agree, Cruz is bizarre and moves in an unorthodox way to suit his style in an intelligent way. But even Anderson Silva got crushed by wrestlers, so I'm curious to see what happens when someone gets a hold of him.

Folks tend to forget that Cruz is a wrestler, and a blue belt in BJJ too. His ground game isn't as good as his stand up, granted... but it's not shitty either.

A blue belt can't be right. A blue belt in BJJ is one step above a white belt (which you literally get for walking in the door and signing up for a class). If he had a blue belt, odds are 75% of the adult BJJ community across the globe could submit him.

He was also an amateur wrestler in high school as well. He's not abundantly easy anywhere in his skill set, it's just that his stand up is sick as fuck. lol

Yeah, but at the same time a blue belt in any credible school is still synonymous with "novice", especially when you look at any typical black belt scope. Aside from CM Punk, if Cruz is really a blue belt, that might be the lowest BJJ belt I have ever heard an MMA fighter have. I have seem lots of purple belts, but I don't recall any blues. Very interesting.
