Even then, what do you get aside from bragging rights? Meaningless ones, since no one else has been allowed to do it. It's not like you can say "I was the first to do this" in any meaningful way, since it would only mean you were the first to be allowed to do it.

In some form or another, yes. The SuperFight belt is not that old, only been around here for a little bit, but we have had Anderson Silva drop the middleweight belt to pursue the heavyweight belt - stuff like that. But we cannot do any form of title vs. title or unification bouts. 1) the program does not understand them, 2) putting 1 title on the line and the other not fucks everything up if someone gets injured, etc, etc.

I remember this happening, but not the circumstances, only that I lost horribly...

but didn't Wanderlei have the MW title for like ever and dropped it for the HW and lost or something? to Overeem? I forget...

Apparently we did do that, at ManMMA 241. A non-title catchweight fight between Overeem and Silva, while both were sitting champions. (And both were very dominant ones at the time as well - Wanderlei had cleaned out his entire division after just destroying Anderson at the previous event).

That's what I thought, and Overeem absolutely destroyed him and Wanderlei has pretty much not recovered since and that's nearly 100 cards ago haha

It's things like that that sort of make a little running story about certain fighters.
