Is there a Grand Prix in irl MMA? If not and this is just a bonus for the site then I have a suggestion.
Since it's like a bonus to name a champion of the season why don't we make it so injuries are off during the Grand Prix? That way people a) don't have to worry about their fighters getting injured and b) teams with champions don't have a disadvantage because their champion can't fight. This way the champion isn't based on "who has the best team excluding champions" it's the best team as a whole.

This way the champion isn't based on "who has the best team excluding champions" it's the best team as a whole. There is nothing like this in real MMA. Pride used to have "Grand Prix", but they were just regular tournaments. Injuries aren't the primary reason champions aren't allowed in the GP. It has more to do with the legitimacy of champions, title shots, etc. If a champion enters the GP and loses in a non-title fight, it undermines his legitimacy as champion in his/her weight class. It came up when PHX wanted a non-title rematch vs. Carano with D'Alelio the first time Carano wasted her. Part of the issue was if D'Alelio won, PHX would go on about how she was the rightful champion since she beat the champion, etc. At that point, the whole thing is pointless, and the title lineage and integrity is flawed. Other then that, I had thought about making GP fights exhibition fights, but I want all fights to matter. To matter, they need to count against someone's record, their ranking (if applicable), and their health. There is a risk to putting someone in big fights like the GP, and I think that is part of what makes winning it such an accomplishment. For clarification, though, with your "injuries off" suggestion, do you mean injured people could fight in the GP, or just that people could not get injured during the GP?

I always thought that the champs couldn't fight because they'd risk getting injured and I meant that fighters couldn't get injured during the GP.

The injury thing was definitely a part of it, but it's easier for me to deal with interim champions due to an injury, than it is to deal with the annoyance that comes from someone claiming their fighter is the champ because they beat the champ in some non-title fight.
I did bring up allowing the SuperFight belt to be involved in the GP, since it is a challenge belt, and anyone can fight for it. But things get (Mark) messier when title shots are earned via tournaments, as we have here.

Superfight championship would be fine by me. You have a legit guy that isn't holding a "real" belt competing for his team like the anchor, and if he loses at any point in the Grand Prix, the belt changes hands.

I have to agree that the risk of injury adds something to the difficulty in the decision making that I kind of like
