The following excerpt came out of an interview with Anderson Silva's manager Ed Soares, published in Brazil earlier this week. "Of course he doesn't think it's fair. Just look at the schedule. Anderson fought back-to-back title fights for ManMMA. That's unprecedented. I don't think it's ever been done before. Ever. Fighting Lyoto Machida in a gruelling 5 round war, then, without any training camp at all, he is forced to fight GSP the following event? It's ridiculous. The man fought 13 rounds in 2 events. Of course he couldn't go 8 rounds with GSP. He knows the fans know damned well that a booking error on behalf of ManMMA management cost him his belt. But what can I say, the guy's a champion through and through. He didn't even want me to mention any of this - this is all me. Him? Instead of complaining about it to the media, he got his ass in the gym and is now training for his SuperFight title shot. But I think the fans, GSP, hell even xx - The Broad Street Bullies - they all know who the true ManMMA Middleweight champion is."Ed Soares, Anderson Silva, and Anderson Silva's team were unavailable for additional comment after sources got wind of the interview.

Is there any possibility that Anderson will be looking for retribution for the MW belt, or are his plans now focused specifically on the superfight?
Is a rematch out of the question because of the issue caused or does the close relationship with the ManMMA brass force the organization to move forward despite the error?

Anderson Silva's team declines further comment.
ManMMA Staff issued the following statement: "First and foremost, we will be upfront. An error was made late last season, and the back-to-back Middleweight title fights did take place as a direct result that booking error. We do apologize to Anderson and his team for that. However, we see no reason for a rematch in this case. If Anderson and his team had issue with the immediate title defence, they had plenty of time to notify us of their objection. No such objection took place until after the result of the contest. As such, the fight seems reasonable and fair in our eyes. Furthermore, typically we would encourage Anderson and his team to file a request for the result to be overturned to a no-contest, which we review on a case-by-case basis. However, as we have mentioned, since neither Anderson nor his team objected or expressed any concern whatsoever before hand, unless there is strong opinion from the other members of the ManMMA family, we consider this matter resolved."
