Once upon a time I met Justin,and then Mike then some how (I'm still not quite sure why it happened) but someone guilted me into joining because I accidentally expressed a mild interest (or just a lack of distaste really) in MMA. I was probably trying to be polite. Years passed and here I am.

I collected her from one of our hockey sites way back in the day. I wanted a female presense here, since I saw how popular Mike's (now-ex) girlfriend was on ManNHL 1.0. Sim siters love women.

They certainly do. I'm pretty sure a few continued into facebook friends and whatnot with her. She was definitely popular and ended up wayyyy cooler than me lmao

The name ManMMA was a natural extension of our "brand" at the time of its launch. We had done several ManNHL sites, and, at one point, they were a bit popular. So since that was doing well, we felt it made sense to just extend the brand. Now, ironically, ManNHL has retired, and we are left with ManMMA. What is the story behind the "Man" part? The MAN in NHL actually did stand for something. I wrote down instructions to myself one day and it was like "MAN NHL Sim Site"

MAN meant "make a new" and when I created the site, I didn't like that it didn't start with a capital M, so I capitalized the m. And then I saw that it spelled "Man NHL" and I laughed. Meant to just create a temp site to play with, and Justin and I jumped in and just sort of left it as it, embraced the stupid of it, and now it's legend. Carved into walls in caves forever.

There's actually another little bit to this.

I also liked that it said ManNHL, because it reminded me of the Man Show, which I enjoyed as a teen. So it kind of became this weird little back of my own mind thing where it was like the place where a bunch of guys would get together, shoot the shit and enjoy hockey and simming. That's essentially exactly what ManMMA has become.

Separate though so I put in the HR line.

I remember so many times other sim sites boasted about having the best community and this and that, but really, this place is the only place that legitimately lets you voice opinions, and lets you debate to a fault. Have some had some not so great times on here? Sure.

But you know what this site has never EVER done? Created a hidden board for the mods to bash and bully and abuse its members privately ON SITE. Shit talking people and ripping on them for having opinions privately, and kissing their ass publicly so they didn't lose the team. OR even outright planning a team distribution to blindside the member. Or outing the member's secret identity if they wanted a new start.

For whatever faults you may feel ManMMA might have, never has this site ever pulled that bullshit. If someone here has a problem with someone else, that shit is almost always sorted publicly, or privately off site, but never hidden in a thread where you are shamed without your knowledge.

No matter how different opinions may be on here, at least we respect each other enough to tell each other to fuck off publicly. That has to count for something haha
