It's been announced that GSP's first fight back will be against Michael Bisping for the Middleweight Championship. Interesting. Thoughts?

don't like that it's an immediate title shot, but if this is a one and done fight for GSP, then giving him a chance to come back and "prove" he's still legit is kind of fine, but it's against Bisping...

Bisping is probably bigger, stronger, and definitely has more experience fighting larger guys than GSP does. This is a horrible match-up for GSP, especially after 15 years off. On paper, he should win because it's Bisping, but in real life, it's a damned tough fight, and if he does lose, it will probably hurt his legacy tremendously.

Training is not a fight. You cannot train getting punched in the face at full speed, and the reaction time and movement needed. You also can't train against ageing.
Don't get me wrong, I really, really hope GSP wins. Otherwise, Michael Bisping will go down as one of the greatest fighters of all time, having wins over Dan Henderson, Anderson Silva, and Georges St-Pierre. And people will probably STILL doubt the guy. BECAUSE HE IS MICHAEL FUCKING BISPING!!!

It's not so much a dislike as he is pretty much the universal poster-boy for "Gatekeeper". A lot of people I know still don't consider him a real champion, and basically say, "Rockhold got overconfident, and Dan Henderson is 50 years old". Until Bisping beats some big name guys in their prime, he will always be that dude who could never win a #1 Contender fight.
