The fight announcements are posted here
This card is LOADED. Most fights have title implications, either directly or indirectly. We have the title fight, and the title eliminator, obviously, but we also have Edwards vs. Edgar (where both fighters are on multi-fight win streaks, nearing #1 contendership), and Leben vs. Condit (also both on decent winning streaks). These aren't quite number 1 contender fights due to scheduling (the champions in these divisions are overdue for a fight and a contender is needed sooner than these guys will be able to fight again...make sense?)
The Anderson-Le fight is very interesting to me. Anderson has a couple iffy loses on his record, losing to Hughes, and Franklin. If he can hold his composure enough to take out former champ Cung Le, he has earned his title shot. It would also be his 3rd straight win, quite a feat in this league, and typically the benchmark of an approaching title fight (as with the above-mentioned title-impacting fights).
In other news, I am really excited to finally see dos Santos vs. Cro Cop II. For a long time, Cro Cop was the only man to have defeated JDS. After some drama, however, Cro Cop went on a devastating 7 fight losing skid, which he only ended recently. Some might say this is not the best time for this fight, but I disagree. Yes, Cro Cop is just coming out of a massive slide, and yes, JDS is just starting to build some momentum, but it could very well be now or never. JDS is on the verge of another title shot, and Cro Cop is not. Plus, you never know who upgraded what, and where.
This was also going to be the last card with men-women mixed, but the men-fights were just too plentiful to bump any off. ManMMA 54 will probably be the last mixed one, then like, ManMMA 56 will probably be the first women-card.
