WHAT. K, definitely check out Commando and Die Hard. Those are must-see classic action flicks.
I don't really dig Will Ferrell. His comedy acting is soooo phoney. Moreso than Jim Carrey even. I still like the odd comedy of his tho, like Night at the Roxberry. But I was totally bored out of my mind for most of his popular crap (Anchorman, Old School, Talledega Nights).

Anchorman and Talladega Nights, I get. But Old School?!?! How could you not laugh. Brothers is by far his best movie. That moving was one of the funniest I've ever seen.

I found Old School and Anchorman to be exactly the same, and just not at all funny. I have not seen (Step?) Brothers, but might check it out. I give anything a chance, but my hopes will be low.
Will Farrell CAN act, which might be part of the reason I find him off-putting. He was totally fine in Stranger than Fiction, almost good even - its just his comedy acting that is SOOOO BADDDDDD.

WTF? Anchorman is hilarious.... Step Brother is even better. Talledega was great.
The fact that you don't laugh at these movies..... do you even have a sense of humor?

You have to check out Step Brothers. Go online and watch their Boats N Hoes video. Awesome.
There are so many hilarious moments in that movie.

The fact that you don't laugh at these movies..... do you even have a sense of humor? I do, but it's not really for most modern movies. I like old Hitchcock humour (stuff like The Trouble with Harry), I like 90s stupid comedies, like Happy Gilmore, American Pie, Austin Powers. I like the stuff Mike and I make. Mostly, these days, it's TV that I find funny. Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, Beavis and Butthead, SOME new Futurama, the IT Crowd. Stuff like that. Movies feel like they have just gotten dry, in terms of comedy. But as I said, I will watch Step Brothers (probably tonight or later this weekend), cause I usually like John C. Reilly.

I watched Step Brothers. It was watchable and no where near as bad as the other shit I mentioned before. It had moments of amusing. Nothing causing me to LMAO or anything, but a few chuckles.

I would argue the opposite - that the movies are brain dead and to be amused, I need more than fart jokes and scatological humour.
Airplane is probably among the top 5 funniest movies of all time. That's a good flick.

In terms of funniest movies of all time, it will always be impossible to determine what they are because people have different tastes. Hell, I just watched Very Bad Things a few days ago and laughed hard at a few moments in that one just because shit was unexpected. It's a dark comedy. And there are a lot of different forms of comedy. For instance, Bridesmaids was hilarious to me the first time I saw it, but after that I just smile through it because comedies are like horror movies, you can only really be affected by it the first time you watch it. After that, it's a re-run and you know what's coming.
I really enjoyed Anchorman BUT I work with people who are like 8 years younger than me and all one of them does is quote Will Ferrell and he's a total douchebag, so that kind of shows the audience that loves that shit. I don't run around quoting the shit out of those movies. I quote my own! In hindsight, that may still make me a douchebag lol
People also talk too much about movies. They hype the fuck out of anything new, as the general experience for movie-goers is to enjoy whatever the fuck they paid to see because they paid to see it and dammit they don't want to have wasted that money. The following movies were hyped so much that people quoted everything funny in the movie thus making it completely un-funny by the time I watched it:
1. American Pie 2 2. The Hangover 3. Tropic Thunder 4. Step Brothers 5. 40 Year Old Virgin

That isn't a list of the greatest comedies, that's my list of movies that were ruined on me for people constantly quoting the shit out of it prior to me being able to check it out.
