Summary / Last Time on Monastery Here is the summary of where things stand for today (these events run from page 1 to 6): 1. Albert has a sketch in his pocket and gives Oliver driftwood to walk. 2. Whole crew makes their way up a walking/stone-stair path to the castle. 3. Albert finds hair along the way. 4. Bixby sees scratches on the stone stairway, and determines they may not be human. 5. Milkmire assists Oliver as he walks around. 6. Bixby locates a fountain and a gate. Fountain has 2 buckets attached to a statue, and two figurines affixed into a placement with the third figurine missing. 7. Tim signs Milkmire's documents. 8. Bixby and Oliver take turns pissing in buckets. Then they fill it with rocks. 9. A literal pissing match takes place. 10. Albert signs Milkmire's documents, then tries to fill the pee buckets with his own blood. 11. Tim tries to climb over a fence that has a ceiling. 12. Milkmire uses his ability to learn the fountain was made by a man who drinks from a flask years ago, and there are gears connected from the fountain to the gate. 13. Bixby starts a fire inside the statue that shines a light out at a stump with a carving etched into it. 14. Bixby heals Carl and Oliver. Carl is now fine, and Oliver has a mild limp but is otherwise alright but can't run well. 15. Jif played with a tree and got hit in the face by a branch. He is fine, but embarrassed. 16. Tim pries open the stump and inside finds a cherub figurine that reminds him of something familiar.

*Tim attempts to use one of his gauntlet blades to pry it open.* DM: Tim uses his gauntlet to peal open the trunk, and inside is a cherub statue with a square base. The statue reminds him of something and seems familiar. Oliver: Hey! Put that figurine in the place next to the other ones! *Oliver wonders where he has seen figurines before.* Oliver, to Albert: Hey fella, do ya think I could give that sketch a looky?

DM: Bixby takes the figurine and places it on the square notch. It fits! But nothing happens. "I just want to get this movin' along dammit!" Bixby says. Bixby rocks the figurine and it turns. He can hear gears adjusting underneath. He stops and places his hands on the other two figurines, they turn as well. He pulls on one and it removes from its base. "Must be some sort of puzzle," Bixby concludes. Albert and Oliver consult the sketch diagram: SKETCH DIAGRAM:Albert and Oliver review the sketch and look at the three cherub figurines: 3 FIGURINESOOC: Merry Christmas everyone. If you think you can solve the figurine puzzle, post your result. Please submit your answers as follows: Order of the figurines (1, 2, 3) and which direction they face (Left, Right, Up = Away from you, Down = Toward you). Also, please don't flood the game with guesses. I will only accept 1 guess per 12 hour period from each player. So make it count!

*Albert Moves three to one, and makes it face left. Then moves one to three, and makes it face down. Then makes two face up.* DM: Albert places the figurines in their places. He moves them a couple of times before reviewing the sketch and pointing out the solution to the puzzle: NOTE: BELOW IS THE SOLUTION, SO IF YOU WANT TO LOOK AT THE PUZZLE YOURSELF, DO NOT CONTINUE TO READ.The sketch showed 3 cherubs. The first was holding some brush. The second had no wings. the third had wings and a garment. The figurines of 3 cherubs: The first is wearing a robe. The second has no wings. The third is holding a bird in its hand. Albert had realized they were not an exact match, but rather a sketch to remind the creator of the fountain the appropriate order of the figures. All that was left to figure out then was which direction to turn them. In the sketch: The cherub holding some brush was facing West The cherub with no wings was facing North [Up] The cherub with a garment was facing South [Down] Albert turned the figurines appropriately to match that description: 3rd cherub West 2nd cherub North [up] 1st cherub South [down] There was a grinding noise, and the ground rumbled before a dark substance began to flow upward from the bottom of each buckets. It was old water from a long ago age, left idle for potentially centuries, now pumping out the toxic waste. The buckets then snapped and dropped 33 degrees each, and more grinding noises were heard. Soon, the gate screeched itself opened and revealed the land with the walls of the Monestary. An ominous village welcomes our heroes with a hanging corpse from yesteryears hanged up in the center street. It was there, just a few paces beyond the entrance of the gate that a second statue stood. It looked to be similar to the statue in the fountain, except its face was not covered by a hood. It stared at our heroes with everlasting eyes, as if warning and inviting all the same. And the dusk overcame the lands as our heroes feet touched down on the soil of the Monastery grounds. Welcome Home. END OF CHAPTER 3
