im happy this moved onto not fighting but I need to add one last thing about flash submissions because I think you all have it all wrong. anything flash is not so much about the fighter being unprepared but its more about the audience being surprised too. no aint nobody surprised when someone on someones back gets a rnc submission but everything you guys are talking about is just wants to trick a fighter into opening up holes so you can go for the subs. thats not a flash sub or a flash ko at all. a flash is something that shocks people. almost every submission we can all see coming except flying armbars and shit but thats why I don't think those count either because there are steps involved. a flash ko only works because its actually what was said its out of no where but to do a sub you cant do a sub with one move its always always always always a series of moves even if its fast and smoothe.
and its all stupid anyway because if you look at boxing boxing definition of a flash ko means a fighter was actually koed and then comes right back up without there being a count at all.
final word theres no fuckin flash submissions in mma. you set up a move and if you succeed you trick the guy and get the sub. its not a flash ko were talkin apples and fuckin dog houses here ffs. not even the same thing thats why its all a game of chess its a series of moves.
that was the last word.
i have had a concussion but not as many as you would think. no stories no ringin in my ears just accident and its done. and people need to smarten the fuck up and stop trying to be tough guys and quit when you are concussed head trauma is not something to be tough about unless you want to be like those guys in wheelchairs who don't know their name. or shit who was that mma fighter that someone posted about that can barely get out of bed from brain injuries?? yeah we need to be better on our heads and stop telling little girls and especially little boys that they should be tough or even praising them for being tough. turns them into jelloheads.

I finished the game in football, after I blew out my knee too. I actually finished the season before I got any surgery done. That was me with my shoulder. It would pop out 1-2 times each game. I'd just go back to the bench, pop it back in and be ready for my next shift.

Yeah, I think "toughness" might be the hardest thing to program out of athletes. Like, in MMA especially, being "tough" can (and does) cost people their careers. Paige VanZant was just out for a year, basically, because she kept fighting with a broken arm. It required a lot of rehab work, and I think is still fucked up.

Ahh for me it wasn’t about be tough, I took myself out of some games. After the second dislocation in a game I’d bench myself. But most of the time we’d be short benched and I felt bad for my teammates.

I didn't get hurt much, but the 2 or 3 times I did, I was the only goalie on our team, so even in practice I would stick around until we were done. I remmeber getting a puck to my kneecap (we didn't have those goalie knee pads that later came along), and i could barely feel my leg below my knee. Chilled at the bench until I could, finished up, no loss. World of difference between that and a concussion or broken something-or-other obviously, but just leaving is just not in the cards and you do feel like you owe your team you, especially in those cases of short bench or only-goalie.

Yeah exactly. Plus I was having surgery anyways so they were going to fix whatever I messed up more haha

I got a "robo" knee brace, similar to what Steve Austin wore at the end of his career, except mine had a neoprene sleeve cuz I was mandated to have one to protect other players. Made me look like I skipped leg day on my left leg. 😂 It was hilarious.

You can still see a bit of a difference but not as much as when I first had the surgery.
