Alright, so it looks like my current work contract will end this upcoming Friday. It has been a very busy time but I wanted to first thank all of you for your patience. You guys have been great.
Now, when Justin and I went to the Cyborg event last weekend, we discussed the ML divisions and the ideas we had for it, and those ideas will now be implemented:
1. BUYING ADDITIONAL FIGHTERS:
From now on, anytime you wish to buy a new fighter, you will be purchasing a pair of fighters.
This will cost you a total of 6 ManMMA Points OR 20 ML XP points OR a combination of both which will only be allowable at the cost of 3 ManMMA Points AND 10 ML XP points.
-Furthermore, which will come into play immediately for Gap's purposes, those fighters (each) will begin with 48 points plus 1 additional point for every card that has taken place since the beginning of the ML division.
---EX: 48 points + 40 events = 88 points.
I was under the believe it was less, but that is how I had done it last season with the other additional fighters, so my apologies to GAP but luckily I caught this on myself before any damage was done.
Note: As of Season 5, you will be able to use any accumulated points earned by your fighters to be applied to any of your fighters.
---EX: If you have four fighters, you can collect all four fighter's points and apply them to any ONE fighter if you choose to do so.
2. CALLING OUT OPPONENTS:
You are now able to call out any fighter pair you want to fight. This will allow for more trash talk and whatnot in the fight announcements to make it a bit more engaging for you participants.
There is a catch: If you call out a fighter pair, the opposing team gets the right to select which fighter will fight the other. This will become more important as teams (if they decide to) gain more than 2 fighters for their team.
---EX: GAP is called on by HammerFists. GAP has four fighters and can select which of the four will fight HammerFist's fighters.
3. PURSE BIDDING:
This is a new idea I am implementing that not even Justin knows about. We will have a separate thread to keep track of specifically for purse bidding. Here's how it works:
1. Every team will have one opportunity per season to bid for a purse fight.
2. A maximum of 5 points per team will be bid in a purse fight.
3. Both teams must accept a purse contest on only one fight.
4. The fight is standards - whichever fighter wins gets 2 points, the loser gets 1 point. But, a purse fight will have an additional max of 5 points placed by each team, and the fighter that wins said agreed upon purse fight will be awarded the purse bid for that fight (max of 10 total points) and thus that fight will be worth a total of 10 points (-5 that the team bid, so really 7).
5. The winner of those points will have it applied to the fighter that won them. But if the primary fighter of a team won the points, the points can be assigned to the secondary fighters on that fight team. The same rules apply in terms of not being able to apply secondary fighter-earned points to the primary fighter.
4. CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES AND FIGHT CARD CHANGES:
This will only come into affect if we reach 32 ML fighters. We currently have 23 (with Gap's new addition, but GAP will be requested to purchase one more fighter and thus reach his pair).
If Championship titles come into the league, fight cards will be announced and applied in pairs:
Fight Card 1: Will feature 8 Fights (16 Fighters)
Fight Card 2: Will feature 8 Fights (remaining 16 Fighters)
Fighters will thus fight every second fight card. Fighters can fight back to back cards but only if it is following the pair of cards:
---EX: Card 1 - Ryo-San Hazuki fights, Card 2 - Hazuki does not fight, Card 3 - Hazuki does not fight, Card 4 - Hazuki fights - Card 5 (now part of a new pair of announced cards) - Hazuki fights, Card 6 - Hazuki does not fight.
A Champion will defend his title every second card, just as we are currently doing. Fight Card Pairs will be announced as halves. Each will use the same number banner that Justin has made for us (which I thank him for).
---EX: ML 50 will be called ML 50, but the second card to ML 50 will be called ML 50.5, but will still use the ML 50 banner.
1. This makes it so that Justin doesn't have to do much work with the ML division banners.
2. It's essentially saying that the fight cards WILL feature 16 fights (32 fighters in total) but will take place over two events.
3. Further to the second point, this makes it so that every fighter continues to fight an equal amount of fights.
5. SPECIAL PERFORMANCE UPGRADES:
Note: Your fighter requires an a specific stat guideline to do the following!
This is the big one I've been excited to announce and it's finally here!
Alright, so fighters have a few things that can happen to them.
1. Fancy Kicks
2. Fancy Strikes
3. Fancy Subs
Right now, every fighter is set to never. It's a standard fight and you won't see spinning back fists, Americana's and spinning heel kicks.
There are three stages to each method:
1. Never
2. Sometimes
3. Always
ML Fighters can now purchase at a cost of 5 ML XP Points the ability to upgrade any of these categories.
Now, to be fair, you must know the following:
1. Your fighter will gain an additional ability to randomly be able to perform higher stunts in the fight. This is essentially an effective training upgrade for that one specific fighter you applied the 5 XP points to in order to gain the Fancy Upgrade.
2. The Fancy Upgrade provides NO improved stat for the fighter performance, but it does allow that fighter to become less predictable against his opponents and utilize a higher standard of skill within the fight.
I tell you those two things because you need to understand what you're actually doing to your fighter. For instance, if your fighter is stacked like Anderson Silva, then right now he's Anderson Silva without any cool Silva-esque attacks. Upgrading these categories takes your Anderson Silva build and gives him the ability to perform those higher performance attacks.
Fancy strikes are spinning back punches, spinning back kicks and so on. A fighter must have to have at least 14 in punches if he wants to perform a fancy strike, or 14 in kicks if he want to perform fancy kicks. He needs agility 13 in both cases too. Fancy strikes are gogoplatas, flying armbars and so on. A fighter must have to have at least 14 in submission if he wants to perform a fancy submission. He needs agility 14 in both cases too.
6. LASTLY - FIGHTER STYLE:
This is to be applied at the start of Season 5. This will give you guys time during the off-season to decide how you want your fighters to fight.
Here are your choices:
1. Clinch Striking - Thai Clinch OR Dirty Boxing
2. Clinch Takedown - Wrestling OR Judo
3. Fighting Style - One of Five Options (Very Defensive, Defensive, Normal, Aggressive or Very Aggressive).
If you already know what you want for your fighters, you can reply to this post and it will be applied for the start of Season 5.
Fighters that fight in a defensive fashion try to avoid his opponent and tries less risky maneuvers while the more aggressive ones lower their own defenses in exchange for launch more attacks.
More technical fighters can launch less hits in a fight but tries to be more accurate. Power style tries to overwhelm his opponent with blows but they are less accurate.
Alright, that was lengthy but there it is.
Feel free to share comments, suggestions or requests. Complaints are also accepted but can be challenged lol.
