K- so I loved Firefly, I will ALWAYS TNG, have a soft spot for Corner Gas, but I think the best television show ever was possibly West Wing seasons 1-4.
It's the writing, it's quick, clever, believable. You don't hate any of the characters because they are whinny useless beings. The dialogue is awesome, but they don't skimp on the details like compelling music, detailed scenery ect.

Breaking Bad - intensity and believable to a degree. Clone High - funniest show ever cancelled, and the reason why it was cancelled also makes me love it even more.

HBO is definitely allowable. Clone High was truly magnificent. 'I have your baby in me Giraffe'.
Breaking Bad is intense, but that's the best thing it has going for it, and it's not quite enough to make it a favorite of all time for me. For example, Sopranos can be just as intense (albeit a more subtly threatening intense) but has much much much better secondary and tertiary character development.

Well, it's no secret that I'm really big on 2 Broke Girls right now. To me, it's like a modern day Laverne & Shirley with Married with Children style writing/humor; Awesome. Really liked those 2 shows allot when I was younger so having both put together into one is great for me. It's quickly moved up on my top list. 1) Cheers; Can't argue with that many seasons. Best show ever. 2) Big Bang Theory; Only edged out by Cheers by a very slight margin. Great writing/great characters. 3) 2 Broke Girls; Love this show. If they continue on as they have been, likely end up #1 on my list or very close. 4) Firefly; Awesome; I wish there was more than 1 season. 5) Castle; Another Nathan Fillion epic. Going to be sad when this show ends up ending. 6) Married With Children; Who doesn't love the Bundys?! C'mon now. Weenie Tot, anyone?! 7) Munsters/Addams Family ('50s versions); This was a tie. The two weirdo monster families gotta get their props. Fred Gwynne as Herman Munster & John Astin as Gomez Addams; Classic TV. 8) Three's Company; Nearly forgot to put this one on here. lol So many great shows, but Jack Tripper was priceless. 9) The Flintstones; As cartoon series go, this was likely my top one, though I really loved the ThunderCats back in the day too. Yabba-Dabba-Doo!!!! 10) Laverne & Shirley; Classic comedy IMO. Call it a girly show all you like, Lenny & Squiggy were fucking hilarious. Honorable mentions Happy Days; It's The Fonz, EEEEEhhhhh! Taxi; The spring board for so many greats: Christopher Lloyd, Danny DeVito, Judd Hirsch, Tony Danza, etc. Just another classic. Beauty and the Beast (80s version); Linda Hamilton & Ron Perlman. Intensely good, gritty writing for a dramatic series at the time. As for your Clone High assessments, I liked the show allot but I preferred Undergrads; another underrated show IMO.

While I would never rank Cheers as a favorite, it was really well done. It's enjoyable when it shouldn't be- who cares about a group of people who need to escape to a crappy bar everyday? But it works. (unlike Scrubs where by season 6 you wish JD would die instead of his patients). I have to check out Castle, everyone loves it and I've never seen an episode. For animated television (which is somehow almost a different category in my mind) I love the Simpsons- many re-watches later something will catch me just right and I will laugh till I cry. Daria is also super well done and let's just say I can emphasize with the main character
