Last Thursday I started to learn MMA so that I can get back in shape and to get better at fighting. So far I have done 3 classes (I have a class every Monday and Thursday). In my first class I did a lot of cardio. We did running for 30 minutes, we did triangles (10 jumping jacks, push-ups, and sit-ups then run to the other side of the dojo then do 9 jumping jacks, push-ups, and sit-ups, etc). Then we did more running then 55 push-ups (I did a total of 111(I did an extra cause I lost count) push-ups in my first class). After that we did some punching and kicking. In my 2nd class we learned how to do a horse back kick and a front kick. You guys wouldn't believe how much precision and balance the horse back kick takes. Took my about 15 minutes to get a proper kick in lol. In my 3rd class it was cardio again. We did pyramids at the beginning and ending of class. We also did sparing which was fun lol. I got some punches in and got a nice bruise on my stomach. After that we did the invisible chair sit with a 5 pound ball on our lap for 5 mins. The classes have been fun but very challenging also. My next class is on Monday. Anyways just thought I'd share my own little MMA experience with you guys.

I trained doing BJJ... that really improved my ground game. then i took a traditional martial arts class which was 5 different martial arts in one class. which i think would have improved my stand up game. I also wrestled my brother a bunch while growing up. If you are looking to build a MMA style.. It's all hard training but it does better how you fight. keep it up..

My class involves everything; ground game, stand up game, defense, etc. I did a little bit of sparing with my brother and I can already feel the difference lol. Usually I'd be the one defending but this time my brother was defending while I was giving him a good beating to his thighs and stomach lol.

Lol depends on how much it costs and what days it is on. I have hockey every Saturday and sometimes on Sundays and Tuesdays then I have MMA on Mondays and Thursdays.

Again it depends on the price of the class and what days it's on.

So today I started working on my roundhouse kick. It's pretty decent for a beginner but it's far from perfection. I also have been doing a shit ton of stretching and can almost do a side split.

Side kicks I'm getting really good at but I need to get my balance better before I can start improving at the roundhouse.
