Are you the type where you need group support for stuff like cardio and other exercise? I am so that would benefit me, but I would not go to an MMA gym for that just as I would rather go to an arena to play hockey, not skate. Personal preference, really.

That's an unpredictably kool fighter, or an unpredictably shitty fighter. Kinda reminds me of Zoila, TBH.

Ok. I mean for me, I would be doing MMA not to fight, but for the fun of training. So I would not want to waste gym time with stuff I can do at home, or on my own. Like hockey - if I am at a rink, I would rather be playing hockey then drilling skating. I would be doing it for fun, not practice for competition or anything.

I trained doing BJJ... that really improved my ground game. Except that you nearly got put into a Sharpshooter by an amateur like me by simply standing up in the ground fight we had. lol Disclaimer: Yes, I ended up getting schooled after that, but that was still fucking hilarious. You also got schooled before that too... since it was a 2nd round after the first ended in your tap out. I'd also like to point out i had put most of my energy into the first round.. so i was tired. AND that wrestling fight we had happened BEFORE I had gone to class. Because I remember you saying to me that I beat you before but now that I've taken the BJJ class that you'd have even less of a chance now.

I'm lazy so ya I wouldn't exercise just by my own decision. I'd need to be pushed. At the MMA place I get the cardio to get back in shape and I learn how to fight. Also you need to remember that if I'm not in good shape then I wouldn't be learning everything to the best of my ability so it's better for me to get in shape first.

I know it was early into your BJJ if it was.

Now re-read this whole thread with "BJJ" = "BJs".

So yesterday I learned a takedown. I learned how to takedown the person and how to defend myself from the takedown. I also learned how to protect myself on the ground and how to get a person into a lock from laying on my back.

No from my back I will flip the person so that I'm on top then I would put my elbow under. Their chin and will start to twist/pull their arm.

neat. from my back I learned a good way to flip so that i'm in their guard and I've also learned a neat way to get a kimura from guard. and gi chokes.. (i know mma doesn't usualy have gi's inside the cage but it's what i learned for BJJ class. I learned a couple ways to get a triangle choke on. and the greatest thing ever!! The Flying armbar.. I can't do it though.
