bixby: dwarves are the best.

DM: Bixby takes a deep breath and holds it, expecting to sink to the bottom of the water. He leans his foot out and steps and... lands. He smiles and looks back to Oliver and the others.

Bixby: "See that? Ya bananenbiegers. Nothin' to it."

Oliver: "So the second coming IS a dwarf! I knews it, I say! I knews it all along!"

Bixby: "Dwarves are the best."

Dwarves are the best at some things. Things like crawling under small obstacles. Sleeping in pillow sacks. And all around being excellent tables if exercising efficient balance techniques. What they are not good at are things like not sinking. And sink is what Bixby began to do. Slowly the unslim man sank like a sunken cannon ball. Deeper and deeper his legs went until it hit him - he might die.

Bixby: "I might die!"

Oliver: "He might die!"

Die he might!

*Oliver has a flashback to all the times Bixby has saved him.*
Oliver: Welp, he's totally fooked.

Oliver: Just kiddin, little fella!

Bixby wills himself to live and swims up enough to grab olivers hand. bixby with olivers help crawls out of the water.

Bixby: well that didnt work.

Bixby: "Damn water's like quick sand!"

Bixby brushes the water off like dirt, and finds that he is dry as he pats himself off. He reaches his feet, when he notices a small lump in the ground in front of him.

Oliver: Do ya reckon we could make it across if we ran? Instead of just steppin?

DM: Bixby brushes his fingers across the lump to see a metal hood wedged into the ground and firmly affixed to the rock foundation. He traces his finger along the edge of it to locate a rope that runs into the wall. He examines the wall but cannot find where the rope came from.

Bixby hops his body up onto the ledge, scaring his companions into thinking he was ready to dive back into the water. Instead, Bixby reaches down into the water against the opposite side of the wall and sways his hand around and locates the other end of the rope.

Oliver: Pull the shite out of that rope!
