just a question.. was his eligibility being revoked posted earlier? When the Punk-Gall amendment came into place I believe we stated former fighters would not be ManMMA eligible anymore if they did not meet the requirements of the amendment. |

It is, because he was removed from the Free Agency list, and his eligibility has been revoked. It technically was, as he was removed from the "Available Free Agents list" a long time ago. Because of this, since he was not posted as publicly available for everyone, it would be unfair to make an exception for one member in this case. Since Bautista is not an "available free agent", and he is not "ManMMA-eligible" based on our current criteria, he remains unavailable. Sorry, Phoenix, gonna have to officially turn down a Bautista return. We want MMA fighters, not people who fought one fight ( against a guy with a losing record (22-25), who had no meaningful wins (and only 1 big-league fight, in Bellator, which he lost in 2 minutes). |

Kyra has been here since the site launched, her first fight was at ManMMA 17 I believe, she's had 70 fights, and her longest time on FA was from September of 2012 to July of 2013, so not even a full year, and female fighters are here based on a different criteria than the male fighters. So sure, you can call it a double standard, but since all female are held to the same criteria and men are held to their same, it's not bad. And of course ManMMA isn't going to remove fighters that are currently in the league when the amendment was passed. They're kinda grandfathered in. It's if they get cut and sit on FA that gets them removed. |

When we transitioned the rules for the men to the letter grade system of capping purposes, that was the only "grey area". As far as eligibility was concerned, there was a solid & valid base from Strikeforce, UFC, Pancrase, Invicta & Bellator. So, WMMA did have a base enough to determine eligibility, not so much for their cap. I can concede that, cuz it hadn't been mainstream for long enough to determine where their cap might fall here in ManMMA, and we couldn't letter rank them like the men, but I've been watching WMMA for almost 15 years or more now. It's been around quite a while. |
